This tour is recommended to people who already cycled in Russia and advanced tourists. Most of the roads are not paved and hilly. Mountain bikes with wide tires are recommended. Participants are supposed to contribute to a group work and cooking rotation. For easier tour look at the Golden Ring of Russia tour.

You should have:
bike (mountain bike is recommended) with rack and water bottle (we do not rent bikes for this tour)
helmet
small bicycle bags (panniers)
sunscreen
waterproof and warm clothes
tent
sleeping bag and sleeping pad
personal eating utensils (bowl, mug, spoon, fork, knife)
clothes with hood, long sleeves and legs (against mosquitoes)
insect repellent
encephalitis vaccination is highly recommended.
You do not need to have any group camping equipment. There is a train from Ulan-Ude to Irkutsk (8 hours).
